Institutional Data Processing Agreement.

This agreement applies to universities, colleges, training institutions, or authorized academic bodies that upload certificate records to SecureCert.

1. Purpose of the Agreement

This Institutional Agreement governs the relationship between SecureCert and participating academic institutions that upload certificate records for authentication and verification purposes.

The goal is to ensure data integrity, security, and trust in certificate verification processes.

2. Institutional Responsibilities

Participating institutions agree to:

  • Upload accurate and authentic academic records.
  • Ensure that certificate data belongs to their institution.
  • Maintain accurate records for verification purposes.
  • Correct any errors discovered in uploaded data promptly.

Institutions are responsible for the validity and accuracy of all uploaded records.

3. Data Ownership

All academic records uploaded to the Platform remain the property of the originating institution.

SecureCert acts only as a verification and authentication platform and does not claim ownership of institutional data.

4. Data Security

SecureCert agrees to implement security mechanisms designed to protect institutional data from:

  • Unauthorized access.
  • Data manipulation.
  • Data loss.
  • Cyber threats.

Security measures may include encryption, authentication controls, and audit monitoring.

5. Verification Access

Institutions authorize SecureCert to allow authorized third parties to verify certificate authenticity through the Platform.

Verification results may include basic responses such as:

  • Valid.
  • Revoked/Suspended.
  • Expired.
  • Not Found.
  • Verification Pending.

No additional academic details will be disclosed unless permitted by the institution.

6. Data Correction and Updates

Institutions may request updates or corrections to uploaded records when errors are identified.

SecureCert will provide reasonable support for correcting inaccurate records.

7. Compliance with Law

Participating institutions agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations related to:

  • Data protection.
  • Academic record management.
  • Privacy obligations.

SecureCert also agrees to operate the Platform in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

8. Termination of Institutional Access

SecureCert reserves the right to suspend institutional access if:

  • False records are intentionally uploaded.
  • Platform integrity is compromised.
  • Terms of use are violated.

Institutions may also request termination of their participation in the Platform.
