1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to SecureCert – Certificate Authentication and Verification Platform (“the Platform”).

By accessing, registering, or using this Platform, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms of Use and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately discontinue the use of the Platform.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “Institution”, “Verifier”, or “Uploader”) and the Platform operator.

2. Purpose of the Platform

SecureCert provides a system for the authentication, storage, and verification of academic certificates and related records.

The Platform allows authorized institutions to upload certificate records and allows authorized third parties such as employers, HR organizations, or other verifiers to confirm the authenticity of such certificates through the Platform.

3. User Eligibility

By using the Platform, you confirm that:

  • You have the legal authority to upload or verify certificate data.
  • Any information you provide is accurate and truthful.
  • You are using the Platform for legitimate and lawful purposes.

The Platform reserves the right to refuse access to any user who violates these conditions.

4. Data Upload and Accuracy

Users and institutions that upload information to the Platform are solely responsible for the accuracy, authenticity, and legality of the data submitted.

By uploading any certificate, credential, or personal information, the uploader represents and warrants that:

  • The information is authentic and not falsified.
  • The uploader has the legal right or authorization to upload such information.
  • The information does not infringe on the rights of any third party.

Submission of false, misleading, or fraudulent information may result in suspension of access, termination of account privileges, and may be referred to the appropriate legal authorities where necessary.

5. User Responsibilities and Conduct

Users of the Platform agree not to:

  • Upload falsified, forged, or misleading certificate records.
  • Misrepresent their identity or institutional affiliation.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to the system or its databases.
  • Interfere with the integrity or security of the Platform.
  • Use the Platform for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of user access.

6. Data Usage and Processing

Information uploaded to the Platform may include:

  • Certificate records.
  • Academic credentials.
  • Institutional records.
  • Basic identifying information.

Such information is used strictly for the purpose of:

  • Certificate authentication.
  • Record verification.
  • Maintaining the integrity of the verification system

The Platform may store limited system metadata including audit logs, verification logs, and activity records in order to maintain data integrity and system security.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

SecureCert is committed to protecting the privacy and security of user information. User data is stored using secure technologies including encryption, authentication controls, and restricted access mechanisms designed to prevent unauthorized access.

User data will not be sold or distributed to third parties except in the following circumstances:

  • With the consent of the data owner.
  • Where required by law or lawful authority.
  • Where necessary for institutional verification agreements.

Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials and access devices.

8. Verification Integrity

The Platform may utilize cryptographic verification technologies and other integrity mechanisms to ensure that certificate records remain tamper resistant.

However, users acknowledge that:

  • The Platform verifies the existence and authenticity of certificate records stored within the system.
  • The Platform does not evaluate the academic merit or academic performance associated with any certificate.

Verification results depend on the accuracy of the institutional data provided.

9. Service Availability and Limitations

While reasonable efforts are made to maintain uninterrupted service, the Platform does not guarantee continuous availability.

The Platform may undergo:

  • Scheduled maintenance.
  • System upgrades.
  • Temporary service interruptions.

The Platform operator reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue services at any time without prior notice.

10. Intellectual Property Rights

All software systems, databases, verification frameworks, branding elements, and platform content remain the exclusive intellectual property of SecureCert and its operators.

Users are granted a limited, non transferable license to access and use the Platform solely for its intended verification purposes.

No user may reproduce, copy, distribute, or reverse engineer any component of the Platform without written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Platform and its operators shall not be liable for:

  • Errors in data uploaded by users or institutions.
  • Incorrect or incomplete certificate information provided by third parties.
  • Misinterpretation of verification results.
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Data loss, reputational damage, or business interruption.

Verification results are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

12. Communication and Notifications

Users may receive notifications relating to:

  • Verification requests.
  • Account activity.
  • System updates.
  • Security alerts.

Official communications from the Platform shall be deemed delivered once sent to the user's registered email address.

13. Termination of Access

The Platform reserves the right to suspend or terminate user access at any time where:

  • These Terms are violated.
  • Fraudulent or suspicious activity is detected.
  • The Platform’s integrity or security is threatened.

Termination may occur with or without prior notice.

14. Modification of Terms:

The Platform reserves the right to update or revise these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use of the Platform after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Users are encouraged to review these Terms periodically.

Anti Fraud and Misrepresentation Policy

Fraud Prevention and Misrepresentation:

SecureCert maintains a strict policy against fraud, misrepresentation, and the submission of falsified academic credentials.

Users, institutions, or third parties must not:

  • Upload forged, altered, or fabricated certificates or academic records.
  • Misrepresent their identity or institutional affiliation.
  • Attempt to manipulate verification outcomes.
  • Submit verification requests with the intention of deceiving employers, institutions, or other parties.

Where SecureCert reasonably suspects fraudulent activity, the Platform reserves the right to:

  • Suspend or permanently terminate user access.
  • Flag the associated records for investigation.
  • Restrict verification access to suspicious records.
  • Report the matter to the relevant institutions or legal authorities where required.

SecureCert also reserves the right to implement fraud detection technologies, monitoring systems, and verification controls to maintain the integrity of the Platform.

Users acknowledge that fraudulent use of the Platform may result in legal consequences under applicable laws, including civil liability and criminal prosecution.
